A few more hours in the studio and the journey we started two and a half years ago in the village of Kevljani will be over and our film will be in the can. It's been quite a journey and in the process we've made loads of friends and new collaborators here in Bosnia and in the UK. WE spent most of yesterday planning the next stage of the process: Identifying festivals, organizing our Balkan roadshow for the film this August.
The first week of August is going to mark the anniversary of the closure of the concentration camp at Omarska that saved the lives of many of the people in our film. We're booking cinemas and organizing promotion for showings in the cinema right next door to the site of the camp. We're hoping that this can stimulate debate about the continuing legacy of the war and initiate a dialogue between the two communities - Bosniak and Serb, victims and perpetrators - in a country that so far has seen only limited efforts at reconciliation between the two.
After that it's off to Belgrade, Zagreb, Ljubljana, Sarajevo and Banja Luka and then maybe even Chapter.
It's going to be a busy year.
